The idea behind this toolbox was to make a fairly simple project that would stand the test of time. I wanted it to be very strong and able to hold any number of tools and at this point, I didn’t need any complex organization.

Now if I’m being honest the real reason behind this project was that I wanted test out my Leigh finger joint jigs and figure out how well it worked on some larger pieces. I was very surprised (even though it’s a super expensive jig) that it gave as good results as it did. I’ve tried for a long time to cut finger joints on the table saw using any combination of blades and sleds to no avail. With this Leigh jig, it’s just a matter of setting up the template, installing the bit and you’re pretty much ready to good. You’ve also got a tone of adjustability to get the fingers to just the right tightness!
